Meditations

Mon Mar 3, 2008, 2:20 AM
Good food, fine wine, home-spun music and snuggle-worthy blankets.

The fine things in life.

Writing your lover poetry, reading something scientific just for the enjoyment of numbers and theories, watching a music video in silence.

Getting lost in a concerto like a raver listening to a trance album.

Allowing laugh lines and those few extra pound, because hey, you're gorgeous.

Remembering that all good things are worthy of rememberance, even if they don't last.

Sharpening skates, playing games and singing loud. Cuddling a bitey cat, because he wants to be cuddled and really - he likes it.

Letting go of fear, and taking the plunge into an artist's life.

Read some Einstein, Merton, Aurelius & Augustine. Bring out the paints, pastels, charcoal, sharpie markers. Buy those $9 jeans, because clearance is the way to shop.

Love God, friends, family, worship your lovers, and give someone a chance. But not three.

Create something, and nurture it without being afraid.

Drink water, get sleep and stay away from the alcohol, unless it's for pain relief. Eat vegetables, try new recipes, use good salt.

Love yourself. Be who you are, and if you forget who that is, ask someone whose known you for years, actually, ask three people. Get a consensus.

Love. Melissa.

Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep.
